MEET LYNDSEY
Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light

My Story
I am the founder of Be Well Wilmington and have been a counselor for 15 years.
I moved to North Carolina in the Summer of 2022, from Arizona, for a fresh start for my family. It was a long and exhausting drive, and completely worth it. I love calling Wilmington my home, and I’m not planning to leave anytime soon.
I have an adopted teenager, and we enjoy exploring our new community and state, spending time with friends and loving on our beloved German Shepherd, Nitro.
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and I’m happy to have left the snow for sand. I attended Concordia University in Portland, OR for my undergraduate degree and Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, WA for my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, both were great experiences, but I think I’m done with school.
Outside of the office I enjoy playing tennis, pickleball and trying new places to eat around town, and always happily accept any recommendations. A little more about me…I prefer audiobooks over reading, TV over movies, and anything else you are curious about, just ask.
My Mission
Creating Be Well Wilmington is the combination of a couple dreams, the first is growing my private practice, previously known as Counseling by Lyndsey and the second, creating a space for other professionals to grow and serve the community.
I envision a space where providers can work with clients and receive the support and encouragement, we all need to do this difficult work, well.
Growing up watching my Dad own and operate a successful business I learned the grit it takes to run a business. I’m inspired to share the journey, both successes and failures with other’s in hopes of all of our success in serving our community with confidence and skill.
The growth of Wilmington means there is a need, and I’m happy to be here to care, and offer services alongside other talented professionals.
My Method
I have a deep passion for facilitating healing and growth in individuals through the therapeutic process and offers a safe space, free of judgment and full of connection, laughter, compassion and honestly. I work with clients age 13 and up, both virtually and in-person.
My approach is both direct and sincere.
With experience in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient, residential eating disorder treatment, intensive outpatient, and private practice, I bring compassion, hope and confidence to those seeking change in their lives.
Throughout my career I have invested in a variety of trainings to support clients with effective and evidenced based care.
Areas of expertise include behavioral approaches, like Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). The interventions offered in these modalities can provide clients immediate relief from distress.
Also, I was fortunate to be trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) in 2009 and I’m excited the model has grown so much in popularity. IFS offers a lens of looking at ourselves as a system of parts, that function together, sometimes, and create the opportunity for use to heal burdened, wounded and exiled parts to be more self-led and fulfilled in our lives and relationships.
Another specific trauma focused modality, I am excited to offer the community is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART uses bilateral eye movements to help reprocess experiences to create a more positive experience. To find out more check out my SERVICES PAGE.
While I am able to treat a variety of mental health concerns, I am most passionate about working with individuals who have identified eating disorder symptoms and trauma and are seeking wellness and recovery.
